Here is a list of the URLs/Websites that turn up as the first entry autosuggested by my browser when I type the letter in the address bar. To make it more interesting, I have also written about the most “interesting” page for each alphabet. I am sure everyone will gain some small thing from reading this. Leave me a comment if you did (gain something).
-
- A for Apache, I visited it this morning to check if mod_rewrite works in Windows, in the 2.0.x version.
- also Pam Logan’s Asia Adventure Page, where I read an interesting account of her travels and work in Asia, a detailed description of the Tibetan Sky Burial ritual. Pam has a Ph.D., is sort of like a rocket scientist, and yet works in China/Tibet to preserve local culture and improve the social conditions. I got here a week ago, the day I was thinking about alternative careers, after my Ph.D. There is hope yet!
-
- B for blog.carthik.net, D’Oh!

- also Cartalk – a new way to adjust your mirrors, which I got to from a blog on Planet Gnome. This new way of setting your rear-view mirror supposedly reduces the blind spot. Driving with the suggested settings is fun

- also, Faqs.org – RFC1178 – Choosing a name for your computer.
-
- G for Gmail, blah! Note: I always type the “correct” address – gmail.google.com, instead of “gmail.com”. I never typed “yahoomail.com”, always “mail.yahoo.com”. I am stickler for small things like these – Always call a website by it’s Canonical name
- also, GnomeFiles, which I visit quite often, to check out the latest Gnome apps.
- G for Gmail, blah! Note: I always type the “correct” address – gmail.google.com, instead of “gmail.com”. I never typed “yahoomail.com”, always “mail.yahoo.com”. I am stickler for small things like these – Always call a website by it’s Canonical name

- also, Hexfactor’s Archives, where I got to from some other site which said the new way of displaying archives was good.
-
- I for Imputor, “Notice to all pirates: Do not download these MP3s. We have logged your name, phone number, and IP address. We are going to sue you. Just kidding.” hah!

-
- K for Kiplinger Magazine, where I was searching for an old article about the best cars of 2005. I was a public library a few days ago, and I saw this magazine, with this article mentioned on the cover, so I flipped through the pages and soon was done with the magazine, and then I went, “Wait a minute, what happened to the article I wanted to read?”. Turns out someone had performed a perfect surgery – removing the pages containing the article, without leaves any traces. Perfect job, really, I wonder how she did it at a public library!
- also, Linux on the Xilinx FPGA, remotely work related, move on…
-
- L for My livejournal friends page, notice the “?show=P” at the end, that ensures that only articles by people appear on the page – no communities, or feeds.
- also, Lug at UCF, yeah, we now have a Linux Users Group at school.

- U for United States Postal Service, I was checking my mail the other day

- also, note that the above link was the only one beginning with the letter “V”.
-
- W for WordPress Support, where I am a lurker, currently.
- also, Words at Play, a Webby award winner – remarkable waste of time and talent.
-
- X for Xilinx.com, actually it was a link to a .pdf manual, but I thought I’d save you the pain of clicking and then waiting for the Acrobat reader to load, which takes forever…
- also, –bleep–
-
- Y for Yelvington.com, no clue how he got here!
-

I’d love to but I’m lazy (and impressed at all this hard work).

Sorry, Conceptnext – you got into the moderation queue for some reason. I don’t know if it was a “he” or a “she”, so to make up for centuries of sexual bias, I used a “she” like many folks do. I think it is only fair to use “she” for describing all kinds of individuals you don’t know the gender of, since “he” and “she” are equal, even in their capacity for evil
