The IPod Wire Problem

I give up! Somebody please tell me how I am supposed to live with the extra long wire that goes from the IPod to my ears when I am using the remote and the earphones? It is at least 15 feet long! Even without the remote (though I would love to have a remote), the length is too long.
I don’t like putting it all in my backpack, cause most of the time I don’t have a backpack. I have the IPod carrying case, and I like to clip it to my belt. I probably need 5 feet of wire at the most, but now, the wire gets messed up and coiled and it just seems like a bad case of retarded design.

How do you deal with it?

I had the same problem with an old Sony MD player that had a remote. It came with a pair of headphones that only had a 1 foot wire, but once I replaced them, I had about 10 feet of wire. I eventually had to get a piece of velcro and wrap it all up…not elegant but functional. Someone should manufacture decent headphones with a retractable cord. If you figure something out, please post!

    Here’s what you want:

SmartWraps are small, plastic, flexible “bars” that you wrap the cord around and clip it to. I have one for my iPod buds and it works like a charm. He’s reliable too; I bought via paypal and they came right on time. Highly recommended.

I got one, the shipping is $5, so that was $10 total. Anything to rid myself of coiled wires. Thanks a bunch :)
