I surprise myself

I never thought I would buy a Ford vehicle anytime soon, but I always knew I wasn’t prejudiced.
I got this Ford Escort at a very competitive price (quite less than the Kelley Blue Book suggested price) from a Ford dealer. It runs good, behaves okay on the road, and drinks responsibly*. I like the way it looks, and the reviews and ratings at Edmunds seem to agree that this is a good sensible, reliable car. Since I had to depend on the dealer to give me a loan, the choice was arrived at more through elimination that selection, but I am satisfied. I was thinking of a ‘98 Altima or similar, but hey, this one’s newer, and has fewer miles on it, so what the heck, I bought it. As with other things, I had no problems deciding quickly. The no frills, no nonsense practicality, the price (of the car, and of spares), and reputation seem to make it an ideal student car.
Dealing with a dealer when one has a cough has it’s advantages - you can display your displeasure, and interrupt his stream of subverting statements at your convenience using the cough
The coffee at the dealership was excellent too.
Tomorrow I return to normal life - have loads of work pending.
*Drinks Responsibly : Seen on a Billboard advertising the excellent Mini Cooper.
