State of Bliss.

The Calm Side of India
An escape from stereotypes leads to to a strip of land called Kerala - and a state of bliss

Reading this made me realise, again, how fortunate I am to have been born where I was.

98 things to do in Kerala

This is my favourite:

Order a metre of tea: Stop by a thattukada, a roadside kiosk, for a steaming cup of strong tea. Watch the expert stretch it to a meter while pouring it from glass to glass, blending it well and building up a tempting froth in the process.

How I miss Mani Annan’s tea and Arjunan Annans Ullivada!!

I looked in vain for a photo of a thattukada (something like a hot dog stall, only much better) on the internet. I got an article about thattukadas , and another

There is a huge empty space on the net. I need to fill it up next time I go home, by taking loads of photographs and uploading them. Imagine, there is not a single photo of the Pazhavangadi Ganapaty Temple, or the Palayam Palli(Church)!!

So two more things you can do while you are in Kerala are

99. Take lots of photographs.
100. Eat Parotta with Beef Fry (or curry). (I dont know what attracts these malayalis to this food :P )

There , that makes it 100 things to do when you are in Kerala…
