The War spilled over into the halls of the Barbara Ying centre at UCF where the cricket match between India and Pakistan was screened. The few Pakistanis who were watching left towards the end of the game, when they knew they would lose.

Whats disturbing is the news of riots in India following the Indian victory. The streets of Lahore, in Pakistan were deserted, which is understandable. Whereas in Karachi things like “It’s very dispiriting for us that our neighbours, our enemies who are non-Muslims, have won yet again,” said Mohammed Ilyas in Sadar, a busy market in southern Karachi. these were overheard.
