I woke up at 9 am, and watched the last two hours of the wonderful cricket match in which
India beat Pakistan
Then it was time to implement the knowledge based system for the Expert systems and knowledge engineering course.
juan is my project mate. I felt so bad for not having made a back up copy of the whole project, ’cause on of my hard disk partitions failed and that meant so many hours of extra work. He needs the extra points from this project more than I do.
We had coffee together and while we were at it, I had a swell time trying to explain the
caste system in India as also
the system of arranged marriages. He had a tough time understanding it all.
I asked him how much a trip to Peru and/or Ecuador would cost, and he says that a month long trip would cost around 1500-2000 dollars, which has got me dreaming. I wish I were the kind who saves money. Well, I cant see how I am going to visit all the places I want to and save enough money for other needs and have enough to support parents/family. But $2000 is not too much, if you know what I mean…I will be able to save as much by this december, if I set my heart to it. But then, I will be expected to visit India round that time. Ever since I read about Macchu-Pichu and Hiram Bingham in the Macmillan (of the “Macmillan Molds Minds in Millions” fame) English reader, way back in the 7th standard, I have wanted to go there and see it all. South America fascinates me, (well, which place on this earth doesn’t, eh?) and Juan just increased my desire ten-fold today. He says he knows some folks who will let me stay for a few days for free too. I was not serious about going, but now I think that maybe I will make that trip sometime, not alone, though.
